At Harvest Moon Sanctuary, we’ve always believed in the power of second chances—for animals and for people. Now, thanks to a bit of creativity and a fallen tree, we’re bringing that spirit of renewal to the world of reading.
Nestled beneath the shade of trees and surrounded by the peaceful presence of rescued animals, you’ll find our newest treasure: The Reading Tree Lending Library. What was once a fallen tree has been beautifully transformed into a cozy, whimsical space that now houses a growing collection of books for all ages to enjoy and share.
📚 A Library Carved from Nature Lovingly carved into the trunk of the old tree, the Reading Tree serves as a small but mighty community library. It’s stocked with gently used books—from children’s picture books to thought-provoking fiction—and it operates on a simple but powerful principle: take a book, leave a book.
🌿 More Than Just Books But the Reading Tree is more than just a place to find your next great read. Around its base, we’ve created a welcoming nook with benches and natural seating—perfect for visitors to sit, unwind, and get lost in a story. Whether you're visiting the sanctuary with your family or just looking for a quiet moment of reflection, this space invites you to slow down and reconnect—with nature, with animals, and with yourself.
🐾 Bringing Community and Compassion Together We believe storytelling builds bridges, just like the work we do with our rescue animals. The Reading Tree is a reminder that even things once broken or discarded—like a fallen tree or a worn-out book—can find new life and new purpose when given a little care.
We invite you to visit, bring a book to share, and take a moment to experience the magic of our sanctuary in a whole new way.
📖 Read, rest, and reconnect—under the branches of the Reading Tree.
